HHS has developed an online repository of the federal services available to public health agencies and health care providers during emergencies and disasters. The HHS Response and Recovery Resources Compendium includes information about disease surveillance, decontamination services and field hospitals. The National Disaster Medical System’s 62 medical assistance teams can be deployed in 12 to 18 hours.
SBIRT is a comprehensive, integrated public health approach to the delivery of early intervention for individuals with a history of alcohol and drug use; and supports the use of timely referrals to substance abuse treatment programs. This BIG Hospital SBIRT Initiative has FREE webinars for healthcare professionals working in hospitals, FQHC, community clinics and programs. Different types of populations and services are discussed depending on your level of interest.
Center for HICS Education and Training Announcing Survey and Webinar Series
To promote greater awareness of HICS 2014 and recent changes made to the program of materials and to better understand healthcare facility training needs, The Center for HICS Education and Training announces the following activities:
- Free Webinars – Introduction to HICS 2014 Changes
Will be conducted on June 3rd at 1:00PM; June 10th at 10:00AM and June 24th at 3:00PM. A similar, highly successful presentation was made in April and the presentation is being repeated to meet requests for it to be repeated at different times to allow interested persons across the country to attend. The Center for HICS Education and Training is conducting a survey to better understand how the 2014 version of HICS is being used, issues associated with its use and healthcare facility training needs.
